The studio works through a ready-made philosophy, sourcing and recontextualizing industrial materials into durable, utilitarian forms.
Hands-on assembly is central to the practice: every piece is developed, constructed, and finished in-house, emphasizing longevity and intentional design.
MATERIALITY
At the heart of the studio is stainless steel—resilient, adaptable, and built to evolve with the wearer. Leather entered the studio’s palette later, adding depth while preserving the focus on durability and function. Surfaces, weight, and connections remain exposed, honoring the honesty of construction and the inherent character of the materials.
DESIGN ETHOS — USE & FORM
Unisex and designed for all, MPS explores jewelry as a tool rather than ornament.
Pieces are intended to be worn daily — attached to the body, clothing, or carried as functional extensions — emphasizing resilience over decoration.
STUDIO & ARCHIVE
The studio functions as both workspace and archive — a site where objects, references, and materials coexist.
Jewelry and accessories are developed within this ecosystem, evolving through experimentation, repetition, and refinement.
Roots + Purpose
MPS draws inspiration from the techno rave community in New York City and across the world. The studio looks to innovators who challenge, disrupt, and expand the narratives of rave, punk, and LGBTQ cultures, using these histories as a foundation for new perspectives.
Each year, MPS aims to create a new wave of utilitarian jewelry and accessories that serve the community that shapes the brand. The work is developed in dialogue with the people and cultures that inspire it, ensuring the pieces remain relevant, functional, and grounded in purpose.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Founded by Argentinian musician and designer Maŕa Peralta, the studio emerged as an extension of her work in sound, performance, and experimental composition.
Approaching metal with musical logic, Maŕa treats each piece as structure and rhythm — exploring identity, rebellion, and continuity through form.
Maŕa Peralta Studio explores metal to craft thoughtful, utilitarian objects. Through deconstruction and redesign, each piece contributes to a cohesive, uniform design aesthetic for daily wear.
